METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY SUPPORTS FARMERS WITH SEED IN 25 DISTRICTS

   Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its incentives for farmers from the capital within the scope of rural development without slowing down. Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to support farmers from the capital economically, from vegetable seedling support to contracted production with purchase guarantee, has now started to provide support for fodder crop seeds (Hungarian vetch).

The Department of Rural Services will distribute 833 tons of forage seeds, 90 percent of which are grants and 10 percent of farmers' shares, to 4,219 farmers in 25 districts between September 28 and October 8. Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara, made a statement on social media regarding the issue and said, “Our biggest project and our dream is to make the people of Ankara rich. In this context, we are starting to distribute 833 tons of forage seed to our 4,219 farmers, 90% of which is grant. We will soon announce our new projects that will be breathtaking for our local producers”.

THE SOCIAL SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT, STARTED BY MAYOR YAVAŞ IS SPREADING

   Social solidarity, is initiated by Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş with the motto "goodness is contagious" is growing like an avalanche. While the Metropolitan Municipality contributes to the economy of the farmers in the capital with rural development projects, it also builds a bridge of goodness between the philanthropists and the needy.

While the goodness movement spread across the country, a philanthropist named Güniz Açıkalın, who has a variety of fruit trees on a 10-decare land in Etimesgut Balıkuyumcu district, donated all her fruits to the Metropolitan Municipality and enabled the fruits to reach families in need.

TENDER TO PURCHASE HOUSEHOLD FOR CITIZENS IN NEED

   Ankara Metropolitan Municipality provides household goods to support the people in need. The support consists household appliances and furniture in order to relieve needy citizens economically. The Social Services Department held a procurement tender for nearly 3,000 household appliances and furniture with an approximate cost of 2 million 424 thousand 859 TL to be distributed to families in need.

The Metropolitan Municipality, purchased many items such as; sofa, bed, crib, cupboard, TV, refrigerator, washing machine, carpet, oven, stovetop, vacuum cleaner etc. in order to distribute to the people who have lost their houses especially to disasters, fires and likewise.

SUPPORT FROM MAYOR YAVAS TO THE FILIATION TEAM FOR QUICK INTERVENTION

   Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara, continues to work prioritizing public health.

The Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Governorship of Ankara, will meet the daily expenses of 300 taxi drivers who work for quick intervention in the filing works carried out by the Provincial Health Directorate. With this implementation, it is aimed to provide medical intervention to citizens under quarantine without delay due to the epidemic.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its activities to take care of public health due to the COVID-19 epidemic, will also provide support to the economically damaged citizens.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1

TRANSPARENT PANEL IMPLEMENTATION IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES IS EXPANDING

   With the call of Mayor Mansur Yavaş, interest in the free transparent panel implementation started. The interest of citizens is increasing day by day.

Following the taxis and minibuses, the transparent panel is now being placed in school services and public buses. At the first phase, it is planned to be applied to 2500 services and to 1450 buses.

The aim of the transparent panel is to divide the driver's section from the contact with citizens in order to minimize to spread of the virus.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2

A FIRST IN TURKEY: INTERNET ACCESSION FOR CHILDREN IN RURAL AREAS

   Mayor Mansur Yavaş continues to be an example for all of Turkey with the support and solidarity in pandemic activity initiated process.

First of all Mayor Mansur Yavaş, opened the computer usage of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Centers to the service of the students who received distant education, now he is signing up for a new project. The children who have problem with internet accession in rural areas (villages) of Ankara will be provided free of charge internet.
